Ruben Amorim’s side looking to make it three wins from three
Bryan Mbeumo makes his first appearance for Manchester United when they play Everton in the final game pre-season tour of the United States.
Ruben Amorim has confirmed the £65million signing from Brentford will play some part in Atlanta, and he will join forces with fellow new recruit Matheus Cunha in a front three that does not have a recognised striker in it.
Bruno Fernandes completes the attacking trident, but it remains to be seen who will play centrally, with all three having experience at playing as a false nine before.
Following an individual development plan to prepare him for the new season, Mbeumo has been training with the United squad and is now ready to make his debut.
United are stepping up their attempts to sign RB Leizpig’s Benjamin Sesko as their new centre-forward, while speculations grows about Rasmus Hojlund’s future at Old Trafford.
One notable absentee for United is first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana, who did travel to the US and remains out of action with a hamstring injury.
Noussair Mazraoui is also a doubt with a minor issue that has forced him to miss training multiple times, and Joshua Zirkzee continues to train alone as he recovers from his hamstring injury.
United have two wins from two on their US tour so far, having beaten West Ham 2-1 and Bournemouth 4-1 in both games so far.
Hojlund scored the opener against the Cherries last time out, while new signing Matheus Cunha featured against West Ham but not Bournemouth.
Amorim’s side then head back home where they face Fiorentina at Old Trafford in their final preparation match before the curtain-raiser against Arsenal on Sunday, August 17.
Manchester United confirmed XI: Bayindir; Yoro, de Ligt, Shaw; Diallo, Mainoo, Ugarte, Dalot; Fernandes, Mbeumo, Cunha.
Doubts: Mazraoui, Zirkzee
Injured: Onana, Martinez
Time and date: 10pm BST on Sunday, August 3, 2025
