Two defenders face late fitness tests ahead of Molineux trip
Manchester United hope to be boosted by the return of two defenders for the Monday night trip to Wolves.
Matthijs de Ligt missed the 1-1 draw with West Ham on Thursday with a “minor knock". Ayden Heaven deputised at the back but struggled in the first half, picking up a yellow card, before being replaced at half-time.
Ruben Amorim is hopeful that De Ligt will return after the weekend, and is similarly positive about Diogo Dalot.
The full-back put United into the lead against the Hammers, with his first goal in over 18 months, but soon after had to be withdrawn after signalling to the bench.
Asked for an update on the pair after the 1-1 draw, Amorim said he "thinks" they will be available, adding: "We'll see."
Leny Yoro is also pushing for a start after coming off the bench in midweek.
Matheus Cunha is expected to start against his former club, after making his return from injury last time out. He will partner Bryan Mbeumo in attack, while a decision needs to be made over Joshua Zirkzee.
The striker scored against Crystal Palace but was fairly anonymous against West Ham, which could see Mbeumo move centrally or Mason Mount return in a false nine role.
Predicted Manchester United XI (3-4-3): Lammens; Mazraoui, Yoro, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Cunha; Zirkzee
Doubts: De Ligt, Dalot
Injured: Sesko, Maguire
Time and date: 8pm GMT on Monday, December 8, 2025
Venue: Molineux
