Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko is set to be sidelined for up to a month with a knee injury he picked up at Tottenham Hotspur before the international break.
According to Sky Sports, the 22-year-old has avoided a major injury and is expected to be out for a month at most.
Sesko was hurt during the 2-2 draw against Tottenham and was forced off the pitch in the 82nd minute.
The centre-forward was ruled out of Slovenia’s two World Cup qualifiers due to the injury.
Sesko has endured a challenging start to life at United since joining the club from RB Leipzig for £74 million last summer.
He has featured in 11 Premier League games, scoring two goals and creating an assist. The Slovenian has been particularly effective with his link-up play and ability to hold up the ball.
He has previously proven his abilities in Germany with Leipzig, netting 39 goals in 87 appearances.
Sesko hasn’t had a similar impact in Manchester, but he is still adapting to the pace and physicality of English football.
Given his skill set, Sesko will come good and deliver plenty of goals for United.
The Red Devils will return to action on Monday when they welcome Everton to Old Trafford in the Premier League.
They are unbeaten in their last five top-flight matches, and currently sit seventh in the table with 18 points.
