Joshua Zirkzee (24) is playing a peripheral role at Manchester United this season. The Dutchman has come off the bench on five occasions in all competitions, accumulating a mere 90 minutes of playing time. He is yet to score or assist during that time.
The Dutchman arrived from Bologna highly rated in the summer of 2024, but he endured a difficult debut campaign at Old Trafford as Manchester United struggled. This season, he faces even fiercer competition for game time, given the arrivals of Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, and Matheus Cunha.
Given those limited prospects, Franco-Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri understands that Zirkzee is looking to leave the Red Devils during the upcoming January transfer window, as he looks to secure a place in the Netherlands squad ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
The striker would prefer to remain in the Premier League, and he has been offered to West Ham United, who are closely monitoring the situation.
