Leeds United face Sunderland tomorrow on their US tour as transfer work intensifies. A club-record £40m move for James Trafford is advancing to become their third summer signing.
Free agent Harry Wilson has already featured against Wrexham and £34m centre-back Tarik Muharemovic could be next. If Trafford gets over the line, Leeds will have filled their three priority positions. The Daily Mail reports former loanee Manor Solomon wants a permanent exit from Tottenham this summer, with West Ham interested.
Solomon joined on loan in 2024 after Crysencio Summerville’s £28m move to the Hammers, delivering 10 goals and 13 assists, including an added-time title winner at Plymouth. Leeds did not pursue a reunion for 2025/26 and later loans at Villarreal and Fiorentina underwhelmed.
He has featured in all three pre-season games under Roberto De Zerbi but is seeking a settled home away from North London. Spurs are expected to consider a sale to recoup funds after an expensive summer.
Ipswich Town have signed goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on a four-year deal worth around £11m. At 6ft 9ins, he will become the tallest player in Premier League history. He called it a major chance to show his qualities after positive talks.
Jordan Henderson has left Brentford by mutual consent amid surprise Chelsea interest. His two-year deal ends a year early as discussions continue, and if he signs he would join Danny Welbeck, whose Brighton move is all but confirmed, signalling a policy shift at Stamford Bridge.
