AS Roma will keep midfielder Manu Koné until the end of the season, making it clear he is unsellable during the January transfer window, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The Giallorossi have faced approaches from multiple clubs, including Inter Milan, but the club owners, the Friedkin Group, refuse to open negotiations. The management views Koné as an essential part of the squad and will not sanction a departure midway through the season.
Any prospect of a transfer will only be considered in the summer. Even then, a sale would only be motivated by the club’s financial needs. Should Roma’s financial situation necessitate an injection of funds, the club would then open the door to evaluating offers for the midfielder. Until that time, Koné remains firmly at the club.
Inter are still interested in the France international but would now have to wait till the summer, with reports previously suggesting interest from Newcastle United too.
