Marc Cucurella set to join Real Madrid

Marc Cucurella is set to join Real Madrid from Chelsea with a verbal agreement between all parties according to reports.

The Spanish defender had been said to be looking to leave Stamford Bridge this summer with previous reports suggesting he could return to Barcelona or join Atlético de Madrid. However, in a surprise move it seems that the 27-year-old could instead be moving to José Mourinho's Real Madrid instead.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Cucurella will move to Madrid for a €60 million (approx £51.7m) move.

Cucurella first joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2022 and has since featured 163 times for the Blues, scoring nine goals and making 11 assists.
