It is clear that INEOS need to start thinking long-term about recruiting another commanding presence at the back, and as per TBR Football, the 20-time English league champions are looking at Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace.

The 25-year-old’s current deal expires next summer, which means he will be available as a free agent. That has naturally attracted a lot of clubs to the race.

Liverpool had come mighty close to agreeing a deal with the Eagles in the summer, but now, the report claims United have no fear of losing out given their past record in the market.

From stealing Leny Yoro from under Real Madrid’s noses, to winning hotly-contested battles for Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, it is clear that Sir Jim Ratcliffe & Co. mean business.

However, the England centre-back wants to take his time before arriving at a decision regarding his future.
