Marcelo visits Flamengo academy, youngsters flock to ex-Real Madrid star | OneFootball

Marcelo visited Flamengo’s Ninho do Urubu on Friday, touring the facilities as he represents an under-13 player at the club.

His presence lifted academy players and staff training on site, many seizing the chance to greet the former Brazil left-back and pose for photos.

The company said in a post that visiting the youth training centre was an honour, adding thanks to Flamengo for the warm welcome and for opening their doors.

Revealed by Fluminense, Marcelo enjoyed his peak at Real Madrid, where he was once the most decorated player before Modrić, Carvajal and Nacho Fernández moved ahead.

He formed a prolific partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and won five Champions Leagues, six La Ligas and four Club World Cups. On returning to the club that formed him, he also won a Libertadores.

For Brazil, he held the position for eight years, featuring at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, winning the 2013 Confederations Cup and Olympic silver in 2012 and bronze in 2008. He retired in February 2025.
