Marcos Leonardo ‘to join’ Atlético Madrid on loan with option to buy | OneFootball

Marcos Leonardo is close to joining Atlético Madrid, with a loan and option to buy proposed for Diego Simeone's side.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the forward has reached an agreement with the La Liga club, and the move now depends on final details between the teams.

The plan is a temporary switch to the Metropolitano with a purchase option, allowing the Spanish club to assess him before any permanent decision.

If activated, the clause could see Al Hilal receive around €40m for the Brazil youth international.

Since leaving Benfica, he has impressed in Saudi Arabia. This season he has played 24 matches, 15 in the Saudi Pro League, six in the AFC Champions League and three in the King's Cup, scoring 14 goals and one assist across 1,628 minutes. He is valued at €20m.
