Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has pinpointed the change in attitude as the biggest difference made by Ruben Amorim since his appointment as club boss.
Amorim has so far overseen three different games across the Premier League and Europa League, winning two and drawing one.
The Portuguese coach led United to a 4-0 victory over Everton on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford. Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee scored two goals apiece to secure the win and clinch all three points.
The triumph is the first time United have won a Premier League match by 4+ goals since their 5-1 trouncing of Leeds in August 2021. United never achieved such a feat under Erik ten Hag.
After the final whistle, Rashford spoke to Sky Sports and gave his verdict on the result and the team’s performance.
The England international said, “It is a nice result. It is important with a new coach and a new way of playing, when we are still learning. We have to back up this performance and win midweek.”
“We all, as individuals, want to get back to our best and then push to improve so, even in the bad moments, you are doing the right thing.”
“The connection is going to build and grow the more we get used to him. He has [Ruben Amorim] come in a busy period and hopefully the connection keeps building and growing.”
Rashford added, “He has come in with a great attitude and it has passed onto the players.”
“The atmosphere is one of the most special things about his club, and playing at this great stadium is always a great feeling.”
“It is early on but I feel energised and ready for the next game. This game has only just finished, but the next one is always the focus for the players.”
Up next for United is a Wednesday clash against Arsenal at the Emirates.
