Enzo Maresca has confirmed that striker Liam Delap is set for another spell out after suffering a shoulder injury against Bournemouth.
The striker was forced off in the first half of the goalless draw with the Cherries and the Blues boss says it looks a bad one.
“Unfortunately he was already out for two months and he has to be out again,” Maresca said. “We don’t know for how long but it looks quite bad, his shoulder.
“He has been unlucky. He was out for two months already, now he has to be out again.
“Also we are unlucky because we need that kind of number nine. We tried today with Marc (Guiu).”
Delap has already missed a large chunk of this season with a hamstring injury.
On the goalless draw, Maresca said: “I think it was a game where we missed a little bit of quality in the last third.
“Many mistakes. We missed some passes in the last third and some moments where we could shoot, cross, but overall, when you are not able to win, we said many times that it’s important we don’t lose.”
