Enzo Maresca insists he is happy with the options he already has in the wide attacking areas amid reports linking Chelsea with a move for Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho played for Manchester United in Thursday’s win over Rangers but has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this month, with Napoli also said to be interested.

Chelsea have also been linked with a number of other forwards but Blues boss Maresca dismissed the reports and says he is content with the players he already has.

“I’m happy with the ones that we have in this moment,” he said.

“On the right side is Pedro (Neto) and Noni (Madueke), on the left side Jadon (Sancho), Misha (Mudryk) was with us but now is obviously not with us. Tyrique (George) I think is a younger profile who can help us.

“In this moment, we are okay.”

Maresca also says Chelsea are not looking for another midfielder in the window despite recent injuries in that area, including to Romeo Lavia who remains out: “In this moment we have enough players to cover that situation with Moi (Caicedo), with Enzo, the last game Kiernan (Dewsbury-Hall) played there.

“At the moment, the intention is not to go for one more midfielder.”

Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku, meanwhile, have been linked with moves away from Chelsea before the window shuts given their lack of game time this season, and Maresca admits it has been difficult for the pair.

He said: “Joao is a Chelsea player. The problem, unfortunately, with Joao and Christopher is that the manager plays most of the games with one attacking midfielder and that is Cole Palmer, and doesn’t like to play with another attacking midfielder in most of the games.

“This is the reason why, in some way, Joao and Christopher, they struggle a little bit to get minutes, not for any different reason because they are both top players, fantastic guys, they work well, and the reason why is because most of the games I decide to play with one attacking midfielder in terms of balance.”

And asked if he could see both leaving before the window shuts, he added: “I’m not saying that. I’m saying that I like both but that the reason why they are struggling is because most of the time I play with one attacking midfielder.”
