Marina Ferrari ‘to give’ red lucky stone if France win World Cup | OneFootball

France’s sports minister, Marina Ferrari, has promised a third, red lucky stone for Les Bleus if they win the World Cup, after gifting two charms before their departure to the United States.

"I let it run because I thought it was amusing to see everyone getting worked up about it. I simply wanted to send them a personal message of friendship, a small good-luck charm. So they are stars, one blue, one white, with the promise of the red one if they bring us the third star on the shirt," she said on RTL.

Before the trip, Ferrari gave the squad a blue jasper stone for success and a rock crystal to ease stress. The unusual gesture left the players and Emmanuel Macron perplexed.

Ferrari has framed the tokens as personal well-wishes, not grand statements, and linked the possible third stone to the team adding a third star to their badge.

France are into the last 16 after a 3-0 win over Iraq, although a long road remains before any extra reward can be claimed.
