Marmoush And Reijnders Get 8.5 | Manchester City Players Rated In Impressive Win Vs Newcastle United

Manchester City entertained Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to secure a win in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final clash. The Mancunian outfit made a good start to the game and got their noses ahead in the seventh minute when Omar Marmoush found the back of the net. Marmoush doubled his team’s advantage in the 29th minute before Tijjani Reijnders made it 3-0 to Man City just three minutes later. Pep Guardiola’s men went into the half-time break 3-0 up on the scoreline.
Anthony Elanga got a consolation goal for the visitors in the 62nd minute as Man City ended up securing a 3-1 win on the night.

GK: James Trafford – 7/10
He made a few solid saves at the back during the game, but failed to keep a clean sheet.
RB: Matheus Nunes – 6.5/10
Nunes caught the eye at times on both ends of the field.
CB: Abdukodir Khusanov – 6/10
He did his fair share of defending, but failed to keep things solid on the defensive end of the field.
CB: Nathan Ake – 7/10
Ake cleared his lines when he could but was replaced at half-time.

LB: Rayan Ait-Nouri – 7.5/10
He was a positive influence on both halves and made two key chances in the final third.
CM: Tijjani Reijnders – 8.5/10
Reijnders anchored the midfield with conviction and ran the show inside the opponent’s half. He managed to score in the 32nd minute.
CM: Nico Gonzalez – 7/10
Gonzalez offered solid protection for his teammates at the back.
CM: Nico O’Reilly – 6/10
He performed his defensive duties well but offered very little going forward.
RW: Phil Foden – 6/10
Foden was quiet for most of his time on the field.
ST: Omar Marmoush – 8.5/10
He was a real threat up top and managed to score a brace in the first half, which helped Man City secure a convincing win tonight.
LW: Antoine Semenyo – 6.5/10
Semenyo caused some problems for his marker but failed to register a goal.

He failed to keep things solid at the back in the second half.
CM: Rodri – 6/10
Rodri was solid at the back.
ST: Erling Haaland – 6.5/10
