Olympique Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi has provided his take on the recent red card handed to Real Madrid star Dean Huijsen.
This of course comes ahead of the upcoming continental meeting between Marseille and Los Blancos.
The name of defender Huijsen took its place front and centre in the headlines across Spain this past weekend.
As much came after the 20-year-old was shown the 2nd red card of his Real Madrid career.
En route to a 2-1 La Liga victory at Real Sociedad, Huijsen was given his marching orders late in the first-half for a last-man challenge.
Replays showcased the fact that Éder Militão was in fact covering for the young Spaniard, with the widespread consensus having therefore been that Huijsen was extremely hard done by.
And as alluded to above, one individual who agrees with such an assessment is Marseille headmaster Roberto De Zerbi.
Drawn on the incident during his pre-Real Madrid press conference on Monday evening, the Italian tactician explained:
“Huijsen’s red card? He wasn’t the last man, I don’t know how the referee assessed it.”
