According to a report from L’Équipe, Olympique de Marseille were hoping that sanctions for Olympique Lyonnais by the Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion (DNCG) would have seen them qualify for the UEFA Champions League. OM missed out on UCL qualification for next season after finishing 4th in Ligue 1

DNCG officials were surprised by the hopes of Les Olympiens. The French football financial watchdog seems more concerned with the financial accounts of the Stade Vélodrome club as they need to sell players to balance the books.

Lyon set to avoid DNCG sanctions

Marseille’s hopes of a sanction for Lyon are set to be dashed, with Les Gones set to avoid any sanctions, Sacha Tavolieri understands. OL have strengthened their financial position over the past 12 months and the majority takeover of Michelle Kang looks set to only strengthen their position.
