Marseille legend Eric Di Meco hits back at Basile Boli for publicly backing PSG | OneFootball

Tensions have surfaced among Marseille’s 1993 Champions League heroes ahead of Saturday’s final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, as Basile Boli’s expression of support for Paris Saint-Germain has sparked a strong reaction from his former teammate Eric Di Meco on RMC Sport.

Speaking on France Télévisions’ Mission Info on Sunday, Boli—who scored the winning goal in OM’s historic victory over AC Milan in Munich—voiced his backing for PSG as they prepare to face Inter Milan in the Champions League final.

“My heart is still blue and white, but… I’m supporting Paris Saint-Germain because representing France is something that matters to me,” said the former defender, now an OM ambassador.

His comments have not gone down well in Marseille, where the pride of remaining the only French club to have lifted the Champions League is a treasured legacy. It’s a source of pride which will be under threat this weekend.
