Ferencvárosi Torna Club, better known as Ferencváros or Fradi, are Hungary’s most successful football club with 35 championships and 24 cup wins – both national records. At European level, Ferencváros lifted the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1965.

The Budapest side are currently second in the Hungarian top flight after 17 matchdays.

Tactics

Ferencváros have consistently lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation so far this season, both in Europe and in the domestic league. It remains to be seen whether new coach Robbie Keane will change things, since it’s over five weeks since their last competitive fixture, with the league not resuming until early February.

Results in the 2024/25 Europa League campaign have been mixed, with three wins and three defeats from six games. Looking at the statistics, Ferencváros have registered 47.34 percent possession and passing accuracy of 84.34 percent. Results have been particularly contrasting in the last three games: a 5-0 loss at PAOK, in which top goalscorer Barnabás Varga was missing through suspension, followed comfortable wins against Malmö FF (4-1) and Dynamo Kyiv (4-0).

Form

In the domestic league, on the other hand, Ferencváros have been steady on the whole this season. With 10 wins, four draws and two losses, Fradi are right in the title race in second place.

They claimed narrow 1-0 victories in their most recent two league matches against Nyiregyhaza Spartacus and Zalaegerszegi TE. There was a thrilling encounter before that, though, when Debreceni VSC edged it 5-4.

Head-to-head record

The only previous meeting between Eintracht and Ferencváros came in the 1966/67 Fairs Cup, when the Eagles progressed to the quarter-finals thanks to a 5-3 aggregate win.

Runs and stats

Having won three of their six Europa League games so far this term, Ferencváros could register four wins in a European campaign for the first time since the 1994/95 Cup Winners’ Cup.
