Multiple sources claim that Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta has requested to leave the club in January, with Juventus and Aston Villa interested; however, his price tag is expected to remain at €40m for January.
French striker Mateta wants to leave Crystal Palace this month and has informed his club about his desire, according to Sky Sports UK and Gazzetta.

Juventus have been in talks with Crystal Palace for several weeks, but the Bianconeri’s best offer was an initial loan move with a performance-related obligation to buy in a €33m transfer package.
As reported by Gazzetta, Mateta’s decision won’t change Crystal Palace’s plans as the Premier League club still demand €40m to release the 28-year-old this month. Mateta’s contract expires in June 2027.

Gazzetta claims that Aston Villa are now in the front row to sign Mateta as Juventus have also opened talks with Youssef En-Nesyri as his club, Fenerbahce, are open to discussing an initial loan move.
Sky Sports UK maintains that Aston Villa are “interested” in Mateta, but are also monitoring ex-Roma striker Tammy Abraham to strengthen their attack following Donyell Malen’s transfer to the Stadio Olimpico.
