Mateus Fernandes is open to a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur from West Ham United this summer.
Tottenham have entered the race to sign Fernandes from their relegated London rivals, with the 21-year-old emerging as one of the most in-demand talents of the summer window.
Manchester United had been viewed as frontrunners for Fernandes, while Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have monitored his situation. However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Spurs are pushing hard to rival Manchester United, and that Fernandes is open to a potential move to North London.
West Ham's relegation has left the Irons in need of substantial sales to remain compliant withPremier League and Football League financial rules.
As a result, the Hammers are keen to receive the highest possible fee for Fernandes, who is valued at around £85m at the London Stadium. The club's stance is that Fernandes will be sold to the highest bidder.
Fernandes' openness to a move to Tottenham has strengthened West Ham's position, with the latter hopeful that a bidding war can raise the final fee received.
The midfielder signed for West Ham from Southampton last summer for a fee of around £38m, and the Saints retain a sell-on clause for any profit made.
Fernandes was a silver lining in a relegation campaign for West Ham and finished runner-up for the club's Player of the Season award, behind Konstantinos Mavropanos.
His performances saw Fernandes make his Portugal debut in March and earn nomination for thePremier League Young Player of the Season award.
