Matt Doherty has left Wolves after his contract expired this summer, the club announced. The 34-year-old departs without a new deal, having made 389 appearances across 13 years in two spells.

He exits as Wolves’ 16th-highest appearance maker and will become a free agent.

Doherty first joined in 2010 and established himself under Kenny Jackett as Wolves won promotion from League One in 2013/14.

He was a key figure under Nuno Espirito Santo, helping the club up to the Premier League, to two seventh-placed finishes, the FA Cup semi-final and the Europa League quarter-final.

He moved to Spurs in 2020, had a brief stint at Atletico Madrid, then returned to Molineux in 2023.
