Matt Hobbs’ recent visit to Molineux suddenly feels telling, with Crystal Palace interested in Jorgen Strand Larsen and admiring Joao Gomes. The Telegraph reports that Palace could rival West Ham for Strand Larsen.

Wolves, bottom of the Premier League after a dreadful start to 2025/26, have taken just two points. The club may seek to cash in on big names in January to fund a rebuild, with Andre and Agbadou among those linked with exits.

The report added that Strand Larsen’s rapport with supporters has dipped. He was sarcastically applauded when substituted against Manchester United, and jeers preceded his missed penalty against Brentford.

Palace’s interest extends to Gomes, who has been quiet on the rumour mill lately after previous links with Manchester United. Hobbs, now Palace’s director of football, left Wolves in the summer after his sporting director role was dissolved, turning down a different position.

He was in the stands for Wolves’ meeting with Brentford last weekend. Palace sit eighth on 26 points, three off the top four, and are competing in the Europa Conference League, where they are 10th in the League Phase. Strengthening next month would fit that picture.
