Pedro joined Chelsea last summer from Brighton in a deal worth an initial £55m, and made an instant impact at the Club World Cup.

The Brazilian scored in both the semi final and the final of the competition, and took that form into the start of the Premier League season.

Matt Law on Liam Rosenior meeting with Joao Pedro

He went through a difficult period under Enzo Maresca towards the end of last year, where he clearly struggled for form.

It was unclear whether he was best as a number nine or ten, but since Rosenior has come in his form has improved drastically.

The attacker has now scored ten league goals, to match his tally at Brighton from last season, and is thriving under the 41-year-old.

Rosenior has praised Pedro on numerous occasions since he arrived, and Law has revealed the new head coach met with the 24-year-old more than any other player.

“He [Rosenior] met with Joao Pedro more than any other player,” he told The London Is Blue Podcast.

“I Always thought Maresca talked him down as a nine, maybe that impacted him.

“Rosenior seems to really talk him up as a nine. That seems to have given Joao Pedro a massive jolt of confidence.”

Cole Palmer enjoys playing with Brazil international

Whilst Pedro is thriving on the pitch, he also seems to be striking up a good on pitch relationship with Cole Palmer.

Palmer revealed how much he enjoys playing with Pedro, and we haven’t seen enough of the duo together this season due to the England international’s injury problems.

The thought of the pair linking up on a regular basis for the remainder of the season is an exciting one, and one Chelsea supporters will hope can take them to Champions League qualification.
