Palmeiras will be without Maurício for the Campeonato Brasileiro trip to Vasco da Gama at São Januário on Thursday 12, after he sustained a foot wound in the Paulista final.
According to Nosso Palestra, the midfielder required two stitches in his right foot after a challenge 15 minutes into the second half against Novorizontino, and he was substituted.
He did not train on Tuesday 10 and is a doubt for the forthcoming fixtures.
Fresh from lifting the Campeonato Paulista on Sunday, the squad returned on Tuesday morning to work at Allianz Parque. With a new pitch in place, the stadium is set to host Palmeiras again on Sunday 15, when Mirassol visit in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
The most fatigued starters remained at Palmeiras’ Football Academy for recovery, while those with better metrics did light drills on the pitch, including running, passing, movement and finishing. They then continued physical recovery back at the training centre, as the rest of the squad worked on technical exercises under Abel Ferreira’s staff.
