Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has provided an insight into the plans of he and his players, should Los Blancos be afforded a penalty in their next outing.
The subject of the spot-kick pecking order in Spain’s capital has of course proven a major talking point amongst those of a Real persuasion over recent days.
This comes after a shake-up in the pecking order was noted over the weekend.
With Vinícius Jr. sidelined, the responsibility of penalties was initially afforded to summer signing Kylian Mbappé.
After the Frenchman fluffed his lines from 12 yards against Liverpool in the Champions League last week, however, he stepped aside this past Sunday.
Instead, Jude Bellingham stepped up, rolling home a confident finish en route to Real Madrid’s 2-0 La Liga downing of Getafe.
Speaking to the media in his latest pre-match press conference, it therefore came as little surprise when the penalty-taker situation in his squad was put to the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti.
And the Italian tactician went on to confirm that he has left as much up to his players:
“If there’s a penalty tomorrow (vs Athletic Club), Mbappé and Bellingham will decide who takes it.”
