Joe Gelhardt took playful fire from Hull City team-mate Oli McBurnie after a saved penalty, despite a spectacular contribution earlier in the game. The Leeds United loanee endured both moments in midweek.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Gelhardt's loan has rebounded after a December calf injury that halted a run of eight goals and two assists in 10 games. He missed around five weeks, had four outings without a contribution, then produced three goals and two assists across his last seven.
His latest strike, a top-corner free-kick, set up a vital win over fellow promotion hopefuls Wrexham. Later, fouled in the box, he took the penalty but Arthur Okonkwo saved.
McBurnie, who has converted two penalties this season, joked on social media that Gelhardt would not be on spot-kicks again. He quickly softened the jibe, praising the free-kick and saying he could be forgiven.
When a supporter asked why Gelhardt stepped up, McBurnie said it was his call, adding he had told the youngster all season he could take one if he won it. With the free-kick just scored, Gelhardt fancied it, and McBurnie accepted he should have taken it himself, stressing the three points.
Hull sit fifth in the Championship, six points off the automatic places and with a game more than second-placed Middlesbrough. Gelhardt and McBurnie have 13 league goals apiece, driving the Tigers' play-off push.
