Memphis Depay invites Corinthians squad and staff to Matrix-themed birthday party | OneFootball

Memphis Depay turns 32 on Friday, 13 February. Following Corinthians' 2-0 win over Red Bull Bragantino in the Campeonato Brasileiro, the club's number 10 will host a birthday party for team-mates and staff. According to Meu Timao, all players, coaches and employees at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava have been invited.

Last year he marked his 31st with a gala at Palácio dos Cedros in the Ipiranga district of São Paulo. On that occasion he even covered outfits for employees who lacked suitable attire.

This time he has opted for a Matrix-inspired setting, echoing the early 2000s film franchise. The invitation advises guests to wear black and match the film's aesthetic.

It is not the squad's first celebration of the season. Earlier this month, after lifting the Supercopa do Brasil with a 2-0 win over Flamengo, players, coaches and staff held a private dinner in a São Paulo restaurant. President Osmar Stabile brought the 2025 Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil trophies, as well as the 2026 Supercopa do Brasil.

After the celebrations, the squad will resume preparations to secure a place in the Campeonato Paulista quarter-finals. On Sunday at 20:30 they visit São Bernardo at Estádio Primeiro de Maio in the final round of the group stage. Corinthians must win to avoid relying on other results.
