Baye Assane Ciss has just landed his first contract in Europe. The young 21-year-old defender has signed with Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova.
The Teungueth FC center-back made a name for himself during the recent African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) with the local Lions of Teranga. After an impressive tournament, he managed to convince Moldovan scouts of his talent.
Born in Rufisque, he now joins the leaders of the Moldovan league, who top the standings with 26 points, two ahead of their closest rivals, Petrocub.
Unfortunately, the Senegalese defender won't feature in European competitions this season, as his new team was knocked out in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League by Belgium's Anderlecht (3-0, 1-1).
