Mercato: Elias Mokwana set for a comeback at Espérance de Tunis

Former South African international Elias Mokwana could be making his much-anticipated return to Espérance de Tunis sooner than expected.

Currently playing for Saudi side Al-Hazem SC on loan, the ex-Sekhukhune United winger appears to be back on the radar of his former club.

The oldest Tunisian club is in the hunt for a foreign winger to cover for Youcef Belaili, who is sidelined for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury.

According to multiple sources, Espérance is seriously considering opening negotiations with Al-Hazem SC to cut short the South African’s loan, especially since Mokwana has struggled to make an impact in the Saudi Pro League.

The former Bafana Bafana player has only managed one assist in his eight league appearances so far.

Elias Mokwana had that RW on lock. He had one foot on the plane to Morocco and USA and now it looks certain that he’s not going to both.
