Flamengo still see Cruzeiro striker Kaio Jorge as a target for upcoming transfer windows, but Barcelona could now be rival suitors after a high-profile recommendation.
According to Coluna Do Fla, businessman and former agent Josep Maria Minguella has proposed Kaio Jorge as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona, although the club have yet to decide whether to bid.
Minguella has a record of uncovering elite talent, is a Barcelona transfer adviser and was responsible for taking Messi and Maradona to the Spanish side.
Flamengo tried to sign Kaio Jorge at the start of the year, but Cruzeiro refused. The Minas Gerais club then renewed his contract and set a 30 million euro release clause from 2027, equal to R$ 181 million, indicating a move could be viable next year.
For now, Flamengo have only Pedro as a recognised centre-forward for the next matches. Bruno Henrique has said he prefers the left wing, but he can operate as a number nine when required.
