Messi Named to MLS Team of the Matchday

According to Inter Miami, captain Lionel Messi has been named to the Major League Soccer Team of the Matchday, presented by Audi, for Week 11 of the 2026 regular season.

It is his fifth Team of the Matchday selection of the campaign after he had a hand in all three Inter Miami goals, recording one goal and two assists.

Messi set the tone in the fourth minute, linking with Telasco Segovia. The captain’s pass sparked the move that saw Segovia whip a precise cross for Ian Fray, who headed in his first goal of the season.

The pair combined again as Messi’s measured delivery found Segovia, who finished to make it the team’s second of the night.

Messi then got on the scoresheet in the 33rd minute, steering a low effort into the bottom-left corner. The strike moved his 2026 MLS tally to eight.
