Mestalla’s online pull is filling the ground, with matchdays selling out digitally before kick-off. The crowd’s late surge was among the factors in Valencia’s comeback against Alavés last Sunday.
According to AS, Mestalla tops LaLiga for average attendance, operating at 90.6% capacity after each club’s first 15 home games. The stadium has welcomed 671,823 people, an average of 44,788 per match.
Valencia have 40,479 season-ticket holders, their highest in years after expanding availability last summer to grow the core support ahead of the move to Nou Mestalla. Strong online demand has also sustained attendances.
For seven of those 15 fixtures the ticket office did not open in the days before kick-off, as all seats went via the club website. This has come in a campaign in which the team have spent several matchdays in the relegation places and won only three home games in the first half, against Getafe, Athletic and Levante. The meetings with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atlético were away.
The club has paired efficient advance sales, despite LaLiga often finalising kick-off times only weeks out, with a database of more than 700,000 profiles to tailor offers. Engagement runs through the shop, stadium tour, prize draws and the app, and online buyers receive a guide to options beyond the game, from where to stay and eat to what to see in the city.
