As Bayern Munich visit Borussia Dortmund at 18:30 on Saturday, France international Michael Olise is drawing admiration across Germany. The 24-year-old was voted January’s player of the month and is already a frontrunner for the 2025-26 award. Bayern are clear leaders, Dortmund are second eight points back.
Olise has 18 league assists and 10 goals this season, plus 13 caps and 4 goals for France. According to L'Équipe, opponents praise his impact week after week.
Werder Bremen’s Marco Friedl highlights his unpredictability and says anticipating him is risky. He likens Olise to Speedy Gonzales for pace and dribbling, and calls him a defender’s nightmare.
Cologne winger Jakub Kaminski notes his composure and says pressure barely touches him. He views Olise as unclassifiable on style and personality, and a major attraction for the league.
RB Leipzig full-back Ridle Baku stresses the constant changes of pace and work rate. He says Olise looks tireless, presses after turnovers and wears opponents down by drifting between the right flank and central areas.
Hoffenheim’s Vladimir Coufal describes a positive attitude and calm dialogue. He adds that Olise answers provocation with individual brilliance, can bristle at perceived injustice, yet is largely exemplary and relaxed at full time.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown points to his ability to unlock tight spaces through technique and athleticism. He senses hunger for every ball, unwavering motivation and a blend of confidence and carefree play.
