Michael’s Flamengo future, Santos move stalls over signing-on payment | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Michael is on Flamengo’s list of players available for transfer in 2026, and he has agreed terms with Santos, but an outstanding signing-on payment is delaying his departure.

The parties have aligned on contract length and salary. Only a Flamengo-related issue remains to be settled.

The forward is seeking about R$ 2 million from the signing-on fee linked to his 2024 return under Rodolfo Landim. Though he arrived as a free agent, Flamengo committed nearly R$ 28.8 million in signing-on payments.

Michael is not in Flamengo’s plans after losing his place last season. A meeting at the training centre on Tuesday, which also confirmed the first team’s return to the Campeonato Carioca, focused largely on squad ins and outs.

Flamengo are not trying to block an exit, but consider the payment dispute a significant hurdle. The current stance is that, unless Michael waives the money, the deal will not progress.

He ended 2025 with 29 appearances, 15 starts, two goals and four assists for Flamengo.
