The Girona coach, Míchel Sánchez, appeared ahead of tomorrow's match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, a venue the coach considers extremely challenging.

Míchel wanted to highlight his team's recent performance beyond the result: “Beyond the victory against Villarreal, I want to emphasize the good play we showed.” The coach made it clear that he does not condition the preparation of the match based on the opponent's situation: “I don’t look at the standings or what they have to play for, before or after. Playing at the Bernabéu is never easy. Normally, it’s a match where we will suffer a lot.” In this regard, he insisted on the complexity of the challenge, regardless of the opponent's current form: “There are no good times to play at the Bernabéu. What we have to do is play an outstanding game as a team, have a top mentality, and suffer together. We need to be able to push forward and press when we can. If it’s not easy for teams like Bayern or City, it won’t be easy for us either.”

Despite the gap in the standings with Barça, Míchel does not rule out the competitive potential of the Madrid team: “Despite being 7 points behind, I think Madrid still has a chance in the league. Moreover, they always have the pressure to win, especially at the Bernabéu. We will work to give our best performance; it’s the only way to get closer to victory.”
