Giuseppe Sala, the Mayor of Milan, confirms that there’s an agreement in place for the sale of the San Siro area to Milan and Inter, but the final approval depends on the City Council.
Milan Mayor Beppe Sala confirmed on Tuesday that Milan and Inter have agreed to buy the San Siro area, including the Stadio Meazza.

“Everything is fine. On Wednesday, we should go to the council with the resolution for the sale of San Siro because, in fact, we have reached an agreement with the clubs,” Sala told RTL 102.5, via ANSA.
“The [new] stadium must be ready by 2031 because UEFA is telling us that they will not consider Milan for the 2032 Euros if San Siro remains.

“There will be a resolution and a proposal on the project. Since we are talking about the transfer of such important assets, it will then go through the City Council.
“First, there will be committees and discussions, and then we will have to come to a decision, either a yes or a no. I want to have a clear conscience. I will bring the resolution to the council and support its approval.
“I will vote in favour, and then it will be up to the City Council to decide. All of this will happen by the end of the month.”
