The Mexican striker has played a lot thanks to Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao’s early injury woes, but he hasn’t produced. Gian Piero Gasperini has preferred using a false-nine more often than not. The ex-Girona star has hit the net just twice.

The swap of loans between Roma and Milan didn’t go through in the previous window because Gimenez wasn’t fully convinced, while Dovbyk would have accepted the destination. The former PSV star could reconsider his stance if he doesn’t play consistently in the next couple of months.

The Rossoneri have been eyeing the Ukrainian marksman for a few years. They deemed his price tag too expensive when he was at Girona. He has totaled 19 goals and 5 assists in 57 matches with the capital club.

Gian Piero Gasperini has worked with all kinds of center-forwards, but he needs a clutcher and more well-rounded contributor now. His Giallorossi squad doesn’t create enough clean-cut chances yet to enhance any tip of the spear.
