Tuttomercatoweb claims Milan are back in the hunt for Lazio centre-back Mario Gila. Napoli, Atalanta and Inter are also in the race, with an asking price of over €25m.
Gila will be a free agent next summer, with no talks under way to extend his contract. An exit therefore appears likely, and Lazio are holding out for a sizeable fee as Real Madrid are due a cut after selling him for €6m in 2022.
Napoli have shown the strongest intent so far, with incoming coach Max Allegri specifically requesting the defender.
It is not new interest from Milan, but it has been revived, with the awareness that Napoli cannot buy Gila until they first make another sale. The defender turns 26 next month.
Atalanta remain in contention, where he could reunite with former Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri. Inter are also looking to strengthen their defence.
