Milan won their first game of the 2025-26 Serie A season yesterday evening, with goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic gifting the Rossoneri their first points of the campaign.

Speaking in the aftermath of the match, with quotes via MilanNews.it, returning head coach Massimiliano Allegri was full of praise for his side and commented individually on Pervis Estupiñán, saying that he is “happy” because despite the Ecuadorian “struggling a bit at first, in the second half he improved a lot.”

After Cremonese hook, Milan’s Allegri puts faith back in Estupiñán

Estupiñan played just 45 minutes in his Serie A debut in the Rossoneri’s 2-1 defeat to Davide Nicola’s Cremonese last weekend. He was substituted at half-time despite picking up an assist for his side’s only goal, and certainly was not the worst player on the pitch.

Last night, the former Brighton defender was given the full 90 minutes and despite a shaky first half, showed glimpses of real ability in the second.

The Ecuadorian was signed this summer to replace Theo Hernandez, who left the Rossoneri to join former Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi at Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
