Milan are searching for a specific player in January, a right winger with adequate work rate, and have set sights on a pair of options, Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche and Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling. Neither will be easy to sign or cheap, though, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The Rossoneri envision continue using Christian Pulisic as a no.10 as they did before his calf injury. They have to sell somebody before adding. They aren’t satisfied with the performances of Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze. The offers for them will be pondered.
Milan would need to empty their coffers if they wanted Akliouche or Leweling. The former has a €30M valuation. They had to negotiate at length with Monaco last summer to sign Youssouf Fofana even though he was in a much more favorable contractual situation. The 22-year-old has tallied 4 goals and 5 assists in 21 appearances across all competitions. He had hit the net 7 times in Ligue 1 alone last year.
Instead, the Stuttgart attacker recently re-upped until 2029. He debuted with Germany in October. He has found the target on 5 occasions and set up 9 teammates in 53 games with his current team.
They’re talented but they’d be pretty much Chukwueze replacements. It’s complex to offload him without taking a loss considering how much they paid for him and because he’s been far from great. Instead, they got Okafor for cheap. He’s a fine super sub but not much more than that and he gets hurt a lot. They should be careful with their purchases as Paulo Fonseca tends to change his mind a lot tactically and selection-wise.
