Milan’s 2-1 home defeat to Cagliari on the final day saw them slip to fifth and miss the Champions League. Juventus were also left counting the cost.

As reported by L'Équipe, Como capitalised to claim a place in next season’s competition, while Milan ended at their lowest standing since matchday two.

Cagliari, already safe, controlled long spells and made set plays count. Without Mike Maignan’s saves in one-on-ones, the scoreline could have been heavier.

Como’s 4-1 win over Cremonese, who were relegated, secured their first Champions League appearance. Captain Lucas Da Cunha struck twice in the 74th and 81st minutes after Cremonese had reduced the deficit to 2-1 on 55 minutes.

Roma returned to the Champions League for the first time since 2018-2019 with a fifth straight victory, beating Verona 2-0. Donyell Malen netted his 14th goal soon after missing a penalty on 56 minutes, and Stefan El Shaarawy sealed it at 90+3 in his final Roma appearance. They finished on the Serie A podium.

Juventus’ derby with Torino started late, and they led for a long time through Dusan Vlahovic’s goals on 24 and 54 minutes. Torino pulled one back, then Che Adams levelled on 84 minutes, the final goal of the Serie A season. Juventus finish sixth and will play in the Europa League next season.
