The second international break continues to deliver bad news to Milan, as Adrien Rabiot and Christian Pulisic sustained muscular injuries that will sideline them for a few matches. The Rossoneri were dealt an unexpected blow upon the former’s return from France. They believed his calf muscle to be minor. Instead, he has been diagnosed with a left soleus strain, Sky reported.
He and the USMNT star will miss three to four weeks. The latter subbed off after half an hour in the most recent international game. He picked up a low-grade left biceps femoris strain. He started the season on a tear, as he has already scored six goals and provided two assists in seven appearances.
In addition to Rabiot and Pulisic, Milan might not have Pervis Estupinan versus Fiorentina on Sunday. The fullback turned his ankle while featuring with Ecuador. He’ll be a late call. The same goes for Alexis Saelemaekers. His thigh injury turned out to be less severe than initially indicated from Belgium. At worst, he’ll be back next week versus Pisa.
The Viola might not be whole either. Moise Kean is questionable due to an ankle sprain, and Marin Pongracic also got banged up during the break. Instead, the stoppage helped Dodo, Jacopo Fazzini, and Simon Sohm to recover from their ailments.
It can’t be peachy injury-wise all season long, but the less crowded schedule relative to the other contenders is their advantage and should be highly beneficial. The problems arrived anyway from elsewhere and are particularly untimely, as the lone midweek round is coming up. Rafael Leao’s time to round into shape and lead them has come more quickly than they anticipated.
