The Cantera Rojiblanca remains one of the cornerstones of the project led by Gabriel Milito. Ahead of the Apertura 2026 and the Leagues Cup, the Guadalajara head coach has called up 14 academy-developed players to take part in preseason training camp in Barra de Navidad, further evidence of the club’s trust in talent produced by its youth system and its institutional commitment to fostering the growth of high-potential prospects.
For several of them, this will be another opportunity to continue their development alongside the first team, while others will be looking to take a further step toward consolidation, backed by the progress they have shown with Tapatío and across the club’s different youth categories.
Five of the players called up will experience a second preseason under Gabriel Milito’s orders: Sebastián Liceaga, Ángel Romero, Samir Inda, Sergio Aguayo, and Ángel Chávez. All five have shown steady development within their respective teams and continue to establish themselves within Guadalajara’s sporting project, keeping them firmly on the radar of the Rojiblanco coaching staff.
Among this group, Samir Inda also stands out, having already made his Liga MX debut after recording his first minutes in the Apertura 2025 — an important milestone in his ongoing development within the club.
Meanwhile, Hugo Camberos and Santiago Sandoval, also included in this call-up, have become regulars in first-team dynamics. With minutes on the pitch, impactful performances, and decisive contributions, both represent a clear example of the pathway Guadalajara aims to strengthen through its academy system.
Cristo Navarrete, Yohan Orozco, Leonel Calderón, Hugo Mata, Jesús Hernández, and Carlos Hernández are also players who have shown significant progression in the club’s youth ranks. Their performances, along with call-ups some of them have received across different Mexican national team categories, place them among the Cantera Rojiblanca’s most promising prospects.
Another standout name is Vladimir Moragrega, who arrives after a strong semester with Tapatío, where he was crowned top scorer of the Liga de Expansión MX Clausura 2026. His ability to unsettle defenses and his natural goal-scoring instinct earned him a place in the Rojiblanco preseason squad ahead of AP26.
The presence of these 14 academy players in the preseason ahead of Apertura 2026 reinforces Guadalajara’s commitment to young talent and the holistic development of its footballers, who will look to continue progressing in order to break into the first team and represent the Rebaño at the highest level of the game.
