According to reports, Millwall have made a £4.3m offer for highly-rated Hammarby striker Jusef Erabi amid fierce competition from Genk

Millwall are lining up a move for Hammarby striker Jusef Erabi, who has been the subject of a reported offer from Alex Neil's side.

As reported via X on Wednesday afternoon by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Lions have submitted a €5 million (£4.3 million) proposal for the sought-after striker.

It's said that Erabi is poised to arrive at an imminent decision on his future, which perhaps lies away from the Swedish top-flight, with Belgian outfit Genk having equalled Millwall's offer.

Millwall have enjoyed a reasonably impressive start to the 2025/26 Championship campaign, winning two of their opening three encounters against Norwich City and Sheffield United inbetween a 3-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough, while they have also advanced to the third round of the EFL Cup after knocking out Newport County and Coventry.

The Lions have had a solid summer transfer window, too, with Neil strengthening his side by completing six signings to date in Steven Benda, Josh Coburn, Max Crocombe, Alfie Doughty, Massimo Luongo and Zak Sturge.

They are, however, set to lose star defender Japhet Tanganga to Ruben Selles' Blades, and will also be sweating over the immediate future of Mihailo Ivanovic.

Millwall make £4.3m transfer offer for Harramby's Jusef Erabi

According to Romano's latest update, Erabi is expected to make a decision on his future after receiving two equal proposals from Genk and Millwall, with the ball remaining very much in the court of the player in question as it's up to him to choose his next destination.

22-year-old Erabi has scored four goals from 18 appearances in the 2025 Allsvenskan, having found the back of the net on 29 occasions in 100 outings for Hammarby since stepping up to the first-team in 2021.

In each of the previous two campaigns, the striker has scored 10 goals in 28 games across all competitions, and he's also a youth international with Sweden, with four strikes under his belt from just seven caps.

Erabi was also of reported interest to Millwall's Championship rivals, Swansea City, earlier this month.

Clearly highly-rated with no shortage of potential, it will be interesting to see where Erabi elects to play his football this season - although Millwall will be both conscious and cautious of the fact that Genk boast an esteemed reputation for developing young attacking talent and are poised to compete in the UEFA Europa League after claiming a commanding 5-1 victory away to Lech Poznan in the first leg of their two-legged qualifier.

Mihailo Ivanovic transfer saga could affect Millwall's Hammarby, Jusef Erabi pursuit

As aforementioned, uncertainty remains surrounding the future of star striker Mihailo Ivanovic, who established himself as one of the Championship's most promising forwards after returning 12 goals in his debut campaign with the Lions, having arrived from Serbian outfit Vojvodina just last summer.

Throughout this summer, however, the one-cap Serbian international has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League side Wolves, who themselves could be set to lose a talisman of their own in Jorgen Strand Larsen after rejecting two separate bids from Newcastle United - the latest of which was said to be worth £55 million.

The domino-effect of the Alexander Isak transfer saga at Newcastle is in full swing, of course, and if Eddie Howe's side end up sealing Larsen's signature in the final throes of this summer's window, it could encourage Wolves to amplify their own pursuit of Ivanovic and Millwall may already be preparing for that eventuality by lining up a bid for Erabi.
