Celtic FC B are back in action tomorrow night (Tuesday, April 29) with a 7pm kick-off against their Rangers counterparts at Firhill for the Glasgow Cup final.
The sides met in the 2023/24 Glasgow Cup final in December, where the Hoops were narrowly defeated 3-2 as a result of a late goal from the Ibrox side.
And, as the Celts look to return one of the oldest trophies in football to the Celtic Park trophy cabinet, B team captain, Mitchell Robertson says that the mood in the camp is positive ahead of the final.
Robertson, who spoke to Celtic TV at the club’s Lennoxtown training centre, has played in two previous Glasgow Cup finals, and he said that his experience of those matches, along with the positive campaign that the B team have had in the Lowland League and in Europe, will help the Bhoys as they prepare for tomorrow night’s derby clash.
Robertson said: “Everyone is buzzing for it. For us, it’s about trying to take the positives from the last time.
“As you come closer to the game, the preparation becomes more tactical and we work on things that Rangers do and what we need to do.
‘The mood is brilliant. The boys are really up for it and ready to go.’
“My first Glasgow Cup final was a positive, the second one was a bit negative but we were probably the better team that night and created more chances.
“And I’m excited for this one, we have some younger boys in and they’re buzzing for it as well.
“We’ve played some massive teams this season, and in the Lowland League we’ve been successful.
“We finished second but if we had been more consistent it could have been even better but for us it’s been really positive and we’re ready to go tomorrow.”
