Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is considering joining a Major League Soccer (MLS) club this summer when his contract expires.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Lewandowski has very concrete options in MLS.

He scored 42 goals in 52 outings last term, but injuries and age have derailed his momentum.

The 37-year-old has still bagged 10 goals in 22 appearances this season, even as he enters the twilight of his career.

With his contract expiring, the time has come for him to draw the curtains on a successful spell in Barca during which he delivered 111 goals and 22 assists in 169 appearances.

Serie A could be an ideal landing spot for Lewandowski

The Polish star still looks capable of delivering at the highest level for another one or two seasons, particularly in a slower league such as Serie A.

Lewandowski could extend his stay in Europe playing in the Italian top flight, where positioning, movement and penalty-box intelligence are prized over constant high-intensity pressing.

This could represent a golden opportunity for AC Milan. Santiago Gimenez has struggled to impose himself consistently, leaving Milan short of a reliable focal point in attack.

Lewandowski would offer leadership, elite finishing and a ruthless edge in big moments. On a free transfer, the risk is minimal and the upside substantial.

For Massimiliano Allegri, a coach who values structure and experience, Lewandowski could be the perfect short-term solution.

He is a proven winner capable of turning tight matches and guiding a young squad through decisive phases of the season.

The Rossoneri enjoyed success when they picked up Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a similar deal and could repeat the trick with the former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund star.

After a spell in Italy, he could consider a move to MLS.
