Mohamed Salah's time as a Liverpool player came to an end in a way which most people wouldn't have wanted.

Even though the Egyptian King got an impressive send off at Anfield, his exit still left a bit of a sour taste in the mouths of fans.

One of the main reasons behind his premature exit will undoubtedly be his relationship with Arne Slot as well as his lack of playing time also having a part to play.

However, Salah's performance levels did drop off quite a lot during the 2025-26 season so his former manager can't be solely to blame.

Salah still has a lot of life left in him and, because of this, several clubs are vying for his transfer with one club director even saying that the Egyptian King could join them this summer.

Mohamed Salah is "very keen" about joining Fenerbahce

As mentioned, many clubs want to make Salah their marquee signing this summer.

The attacker is one of Africa's best-ever players with his performances during the 2024-25 season single-handedly carrying Liverpool to the Premier League title.

This version of the right-winger hasn't gone anywhere despite what some people may say which is why clubs still want to sign him.

Slot's new tactical style did not suit Salah whatsoever which is why he chose to explore pastures new with Fenerbahce director Ertan Torunogullari claiming that his club could sign him in the upcoming transfer window.

"He was very keen on coming to Türkiye. The meetings he had with us were extremely positive," he said.

"We had established common ground with him on many issues, including his salary. If the new administration makes such a request, I believe Salah will wear the Fenerbahçe jersey.

"We would gladly work with the new administration on negotiations."

Mohamed Salah wants an eye-watering amount of money per year

While playing for Liverpool this season, Salah was rumoured to be on around £400,000-per-week.

This is obviously a lot of money but, since this next move could be the attackers last pay day, he's going to want to squeeze as much money as possible out of his next club.

In fact, the report from Fanatik even claims that he'd want around €30 million-per-year to join Fenerbahce which equates to around £25.8 million-per-year or around £500,000-per-week.

He'd also only sign a three-year deal so his total compensation would be around €90 million.

This is an absolutely insane amount of money for a 33-year-old, no matter how good he actually is.

If Salah gets that amount of money then fair enough but, in reality, it feels like he'd need to demand a lot less to stand a chance of getting a deal.
