AS Monaco were scheduled to travel to Belgium on Wednesday afternoon ahead of their UEFA Champions League opener against Club Brugge on Thursday night.
However, an air conditioning problem and a separate technical issue with their chartered plane saw their flight cancelled. “Thiago (Scuro, CEO of AS Monaco) and I decided that we will go tomorrow,” said the Principality club’s manager, Adi Hutter, after he and the rest of the staff had made their way back up to the club’s performance centre in La Turbie.
“I’ve never experienced that before, but there are some circumstances that you have no influence over. For us, it was a little bit special and not so comfortable. But we are professionals and we prepare as normal for the game tomorrow,” added Hutter.
Monaco will therefore travel from Nice airport on Thursday morning, ahead of the match that will take place at 18:45, local time
