Monreal in line as Sancet out for Athletic’s Copa semi with Real Sociedad | OneFootball

Athletic have named 22 players for Wednesday’s Copa 2025/26 semi-final first leg against Real Sociedad at San Mamés, kick-off 21:00.

According to as.com, none of Sancet, Berchiche, Berenguer or Vivian have recovered in time from their injuries. To cover the absences, Ernesto Valverde has called up B-team centre-backs Monreal and Duñabeitia and midfielder Eder García, alongside the usual Selton Sánchez.

With Paredes suspended and Vivian injured, Monreal is in line to start, having made his debut at Mestalla against Valencia in the quarter-finals.

The coach has turned to the academy to mitigate key absences in defence and midfield.
